Undergraduate Single Honours Students
If you’re an undergraduate student on a Single Honours Computer Science degree looking to transfer onto a Year in Industry programme, there are a few things to consider. To be eligible to transfer to the Year in Industry Programmes in the table below, you must make sure that you have selected the optional module COMP221 (Planning your Career) for second year. Without taking COMP221, you will be unable to transfer onto the Year in Industry and therefore will not be able to go on placement.
Please see below for all Year in Industry Programmes that require COMP221 (Planning your Career):

If you are a student undertaking a Joint Honours degree administered by the Department of Computer Science, you are not required to take COMP221 to undertake the Year in Industry. Due to your course structure and programme requirements, COMP221 is not available on Joint Honours Programmes. You are welcome to attend the teaching sessions for COMP221 on an extra-curricular (without assessment) basis, should you wish to do so.
