This section contains information on transferring programmes

Transferring to a different programme

There are several reasons that you might consider transferring your course:

  • Transferring to or from a year in industry course.
  • Transferring to or from an MEng course.
  • You feel as though your programme isn’t right for you, and want to transfer to another one.

If you wish to transfer to a different programme, we recommend contacting the Student Experience Team for initial guidance. You can also find further information on the process via the Student Administration Page, here.

This section contains information on interrupting your studies (formerly known as suspension)

(Formerly Suspension)

There are many reasons that you might need a break from your studies, and sometimes taking that time away is the best thing you can do for yourself and your wellbeing. The University has lots of support available to students - you can find further information here. We recommend contacting the Student Experience Team who will be happy to help guide you through the process. You can find further information via the Student Administration Page, here.

This section contains information on withdrawing from your studies

Leaving your programme early

There are many reasons that you might want to leave your programme early:

  • You might not be enjoying your programme.
  • You might have realised University isn’t for you right now, or at all.
  • Another opportunity may have come up that you want to prioritise.

We recommend contacting the Student Experience Team for guidance. It may be that transferring to another course or interrupting your studies might be the better option for you. If withdrawing is the best option for you, SET can help guide you through the process. You can find further information on the process via the Student Administration Page, here.
