Assessment Support (24/25)

Struggling with your assessments, and not sure what help is available? In addition to our University Support Services, there are three different types of assessment support which you may find useful:

 

• Exemption from Late Penalties (ELPs)
  • If you have submitted your assignment within 14-days of the original deadline, or before feedback is released (whichever is soonest), and you have a sufficient reason for submitting late, you can submit an Exemption from Late Penalties (ELP) claim.
  • ELP claims must be submitted at the same time as the late assignment.

• Extenuating Circumstances (ECs)
  • If you have been negatively impacted by unexpected conditions beyond your control, significantly impacting your performance or causing you to miss an assessment altogether, you can submit an Extenuating Circumstances (EC) claim. 
  • EC claims cannot remove late penalties - For this please submit an ELP.

• Student Support Information Sheets (SSIS)
  • If you have a Student Support Information Sheet (SSIS), and you are eligible for coursework deadline extensions, please ensure you submit these in advance of your original deadline.
  • Only students with a pre-authorised SSIS are eligible for coursework deadline extensions.
    • SSIS coursework deadline extensions are limited up to a maximum of 7-days (Depending on the release of advantageous feedback).
