Peer Mentoring
For new undergraduate students (first years and second year XJTLU students), you will be linked up to a Peer Mentor from a higher year group to provide some additional support from students who have been in your shoes. Peer mentors will usually meet all their 'mentees' together to introduce themselves and then organise one-to-one meetings, typically every couple of weeks in the first semester (or for however long you find this useful). The meetings don't need to be formal, just your opportunity to ask questions and get advice!
Remember a Peer Mentor would not take the place of professional staff so if you have queries that are outside of your Peer Mentor's scope, there are also wider teams and resources available to utilise.
Are you interested in becoming a Peer Mentor?
If you are interested in gaining new skills, enhancing your CV and assisting new students to settle into University life, Peer Mentoring may be a great opportunity for you!
The Peer Mentor programme also contributes to your Higher Education Achiever Report (HEAR) that you receive at graduation.
If you have queries or would like to become a Peer Mentor for the new academic year, please contact Dr Konstantinos Tsakalidis (K.Tsakalidis@liverpool.ac.uk).
