Course Overview & LOs

This course will help you will reflect on the role various forms of digital education tools can play in the design and delivery of teaching and learning and how you can engage these tools in your own practice. You will become skilled in some of the digital education tools used in higher education, as well as understand how to use the tools whilst being mindful of appropriate pedagogical approaches and processes.
This course is for any members of Liverpool University who are involved in the design, support and / or delivery of teaching at any level. Indicative roles include academics, teaching assistants, organisational development, and library colleagues.
This is a self-paced course and there are no designated start or end times. If you have some time, you may wish to work through large sections, if you are more pressed, do as much as you can and then simply return when you are able to. In total, we advise that this course will take 60 minutes to complete.

By the end of this course you should be able to:

Identify the difference between Core, Integrated and Recognised digital education tools

Describe your obligations under the 2020 accessibility legislation

Construct content using digital education tools

Outline the importance of learning design to your own practice

Apply Laurillard's Learning types and Bloom's Digital Taxonomy

Examine how to design learning by acquisition and through discussion, collaboration, investigation, practice and production activities

Identify current approaches to digital teaching and learning including Synchronous, Asynchronous, Flipped, Blended and Hybrid Approaches
