Who to contact
Depending on your particular needs you may need to contact different support from across the University. We have provided a summary below to hopefully point you in the right direction but if you are not sure then please do contact any one of the support teams and we will always redirect if necessary.
Computing Services
What is their role?
CSD are responsible for all of the technical infrastructure of the University and core applications including the maintenance and expert technical support for student, research, finance, HR, teaching and learning, and registration systems is managed by Application Development. This includes responsibility for key business systems such as the student record system (SPIDER), Agresso, TULIP, VITAL, and Core HR.
When should I contact them?
If you need any support with regards to access any of the University tools and systems then CSD are the first port of call. They can help you with your managed windows system, accessing systems, and getting access to software & services.

Centre for Innovation in Education (CIE)
What is their role?
The mission of the Centre for Innovation in Education (CIE) is to support innovation in learning, teaching and assessment through enhanced curriculum development. We encourage and guide academic staff within programme teams to innovate in: teaching, learning and assessment; and critically consider the use of digital tools and educational technology as part of a holistic curriculum design process.
We will work in partnership with academics and students to review and refresh our curricula and create a distinctive offer, whilst supporting colleagues to develop new and innovative undergraduate and postgraduate programmes informed by the needs of a range of stakeholders.
We will enable staff to deliver stimulating teaching leading to the highest possible levels of student learning and satisfaction, investing in resources to support continuous innovation.
When should I contact them?
If you need any support with discussing your ideas or designing your curriculum then CIE can help. We can share examples of good practice from internal and external examples as well as point you in the direction of further information if necessary. Above all we will be a critical friend if you want to bounce around some ideas or if you are stuck with any aspect of thinking through the modes of teaching, learning types or application tools seen in this course.
In addition to the curriculum design support CIE also supports colleagues with the use of digital tools and services in the context of learning and teaching. Whilst CSD are responsible for the implementation and operation of technologies educational developers in CIE can help you make the very best use of these digital tools as part of your learning and teaching.

The Academy
What is their role?
The role of The Leadership, Organisational, Professional and Academic Development Academy (The Academy) is to promote and enable organisational excellence through the strategic development of the University’s people and practices. We support the development of high performance in leadership and management, research, education and professional practice, working with partners across the institution and beyond to achieve the highest standards of excellence. We foster collaboration, innovation and enhancement; providing opportunities for continuous improvement at individual, team and organisational levels in pursuit of Liverpool’s strategic objectives.
When should I contact them?
If you have any questions or support and development needs relating to your role in relation to HAL or your teaching practice, The Academy are who to contact. For example if you are thinking about different teaching approaches and how to adapt teaching for the different teaching modes then please contact The Academy for advice and guidance. In addition to this they also provide support and guidance in relation to the role of Academic Advisor.
