- Workbooks – a structured series of forms which are filled in by students. Workbooks can be set up to span entire programmes, modules or sit entirely outside of academic assessment.
- Portfolios – these are free-form, multi-page online documents that can be used as CVs, websites or assessments.
- Logs – which record experiences and completed work.

It is designed to help learners, wherever they are learning, develop, shape, and share their unique skills and attributes for success in today's world. PebblePad can be used by an individual to support their own learning and professional development, or by an organisation to facilitate the learning of their members, be they students, staff, or professionals.
